From Bean to Green: How CoffeeCounts is Brewing Sustainability

At CoffeeCounts, we’re passionate about serving great coffee and protecting our planet. Let’s explore how we’re putting sustainability into action every day.

1. From Grounds to Gardens

We’ve partnered with local WA farmers to give our used coffee grounds a second life. Instead of binning them, we donate all our spent grounds to farmers. These nutrient-rich grounds make excellent compost, enriching soil and boosting crop yields. Last year alone, we diverted over 2 tonnes of coffee grounds from landfills to farmland.

2. Eco-Friendly Packaging Revolution

We’ve bid farewell to plastic packaging. All our coffee now comes in 100% compostable bags made from plant-based materials. This simple switch has prevented an estimated 250,000 plastic bags from entering the waste stream annually.

3. Supporting Sustainable Communities

Through our “Fair Trade Friday” initiative, we donate 10% of every Friday’s sales to community development projects in coffee-growing regions. This has funded clean water projects, school improvements, and sustainable farming training, directly improving the lives of those at the source of our beloved beans.

At CoffeeCounts, sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s woven into everything we do. From the farm to your cup, we’re committed to making choices that benefit both coffee lovers and our planet.

Join us in our mission to brew a better future, one sustainable sip at a time!
